AI transparency statement

CMX+ and CMX Pro teach people to use AI well, and we use AI ourselves to make them. This statement explains where AI is involved, what that means for you and what we do not do. It is part of how we tell you clearly when you are interacting with an AI system or hearing AI-generated content, as the EU AI Act and good practice expect.

Lessons and illustrations

Our lessons and illustrations are written and drawn with the help of AI tools. They are reviewed by the CMX team, who are responsible for what we publish. If you spot a mistake, please tell us.

Narration

Lesson narration is pre-recorded audio created with an AI voice tool, ElevenLabs. The voice you hear is AI-generated, not a recording of a person. No personal data is sent to ElevenLabs to create it, and nothing you do in the app is sent there.

AI tutor, prompt sandbox and AI feedback (CMX Pro)

CMX Pro includes an AI tutor, an AI prompt sandbox and exercises that give AI feedback, such as scoring a prompt you write or tailoring examples to a role you choose.

  • Demo mode today: these features currently run in a demo mode. You see sample answers built into the app, and nothing you type is sent to an external AI provider.
  • If we switch to live answers: what you type into these features will be sent to Anthropic (USA) to generate a reply. Under Anthropic's commercial terms, it is not used to train Anthropic's models. We will update this statement and our privacy and cookies notice before we make that change.
  • Always identified as AI: the tutor always identifies itself as an AI. You are not talking to a person.
  • Check what it says: AI can sound confident and still be wrong, incomplete or out of date. Treat its answers as a starting point, check anything important, and do not enter sensitive personal or confidential information.

What we do not do

  • We do not use your data to train AI models.
  • We do not make decisions about you by automated means that have legal or similarly significant effects.
  • We do not profile you. Personalised examples are based only on the role you choose yourself.
